"The Lochiel"
Hand made Highland dirk and knife with Edinburgh hallmarked silver mounts. The hand-carved handles are made from hard rosewood, chocolate brown in colour to give a 17th & 18th century look and feel. No dye has been used on these handles. The blade is double edged to look and feel like it was cut down from a broken sword blade and has a full tange with a steel cross tang nut securing it to the mounts and handle.
It is stamped with "AN + DR + IA" and the running woolf of Solingen on one side; and "FE + RA + RA" and the running woolf on the other. The blade also has two blood grooves running down each side, and has also been slightly pitted to give an 18th century look.
The scabbard is made from the finest dearskin; the pommel cap has four concentric rings stamped in with four pierced hearts of the early 18th century style. Red material is noticible through the pierced hearts on the pommel cap. Total length of the dirk in scabbard is 455mm (just over 18")
